There was an innocence in those days

… and yet you see certain ideas coming in to the lyrics by the late 50s.

My fave decades are clearly the 20s, 50s, 70s, two-thirds of the 90s and now there are some nice things about, e.g. Post Modern Jukebox and Tuba Skinny but they’re mainly revivalist – nothing wrong with that though.

I like 50s rockabilly except for its chord sameness and this shows in the fayre offered by Huey ‘Piano’ Smith. It’s good, danceable but after the third number … weeeellll.

Pretty obvious where other artists got ideas from:
